Structural Welder & Fitter

Dupont Building, Inc. is looking for a full-time Structural Welder/Fitter . Stick and Mig. This individual should be dependable, motivated, and hard working. We work year round and offer competitive wages and benefits including health insurance as well as PTO, 401K, holidays and other benefits.

SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS :

• Analyze blueprints and structural drawings to layout the framework of a structure
• Secure and fasten structural components using clamps, braces, jacks, and straps
• Carry out post-welding treatment of structures by cleaning & buffing finished workpieces
• Inspect and evaluate welds to ensure they are free of defect and conform to set specifications
• Employ appropriate welding methods in completing structural fabrications

• Operate cranes and forklifts to convey metal components and work materials to construction site
• Utilize manual and mechanical processes to weld in various positions
• Carry out fillet, tack, and full penetration welding on steel structures and structural joints.
• Apply welding processes such as GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding) and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding)
• Fit and weld metal components for structural steel Skid Frames.
• Set equipment to weld in vertical, horizontal, flat or overhead positions.
• Must be able to pass D1.1 Welding Tests.

Experience w/ Plasma cutting helpful but not required

• Fabrication work 3-5 years of experience
• Experience with fitting, welding, grinding
• Drill and punch holes in metal, for screws, bolts, and rivets.
• read blueprints
• Trim, file, grind, buff, and smooth surfaces, seams, and joints of assembled parts, using hand tools and portable power tools.

Pay: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour
